Senior Art Director – MMO/Virtual Worlds

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Art Director will join the team responsible for the creation of our next AAA children’s online virtual world.  This position requires an experienced, creative, talented and motivated Senior Art Director to provide art and design support to product development, product maintenance, and product marketing efforts. Responsibilities involve concepting and executing creative solutions for this online virtual world experience, maintaining style guide parameters, defining and meeting standards of quality for artwork, and meeting all production deadlines. The Senior Art Director position is very hands-on and requires an AD excited and willing to do actual creative. The Senior AD position also requires direct staff management responsibilities, as well as participation in meetings, concept pitches, and managing creative oversight of 3rd party developers and internal staff.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Ten or more years of video game specific art, design or animation experience required.
An understanding of online virtual worlds, the technology and the trade-off issues involved with game development in the online space
Able to drive projects from beginning to end with little assistance or supervision.
Previous experience managing a team of artists.
Proven digital and traditional abilities in design and illustration required. Must be able to draw traditionally.

Software Engineer – Server (Online Gaming – Java)

POSITION SUMMARY
Develops, maintains and documents web and games server software components.  Interfaces with other organizations to define requirements and guide them through the development process for new or enhanced generic game engines and tools that satisfy requirements of multiple organizations.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Experience developing C/C++ applications in a Linux, Apache, MySQL.
Requirements gathering and process execution
These specific skills are necessary for this position: Expertise in server-side web application development languages such as Java, JSP, Servlets, SQL. Knowledge of Internet protocols and standards such as HTTP is desirable.
A full understanding of TCP and UDP including coding Server/Socket applications in Java and C++

Job Summary:

Plans, directs, and coordinates all aspects of complex information technology projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. May also manage smaller projects or phases of larger IT efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field OR equivalent work experience in related field
• Min. 5 years IT project management experience. Familiar with the standard systems development lifecycle and project management methodologies
• Designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
• Ability to manage all aspects of multifaceted information technology projects, involving development, technical services, and QA resources
